We had a very successful first ever International Outreach Concert with American Songbook Association (New York) in Leiden, the Netherlands. I hosted, sang and co-produced (with ASA) the event gathering special guests, students of mine and local children to shine.
The summer months have flown by and the school year has now begun. I have always liked this time of year because it feels like a fresh start. With that fresh start comes new commitments.
The past few months have been filled with many personal and professional changes. And the world we all know has changed as well. Keep an eye on this space - I'll be back soon with details.
This summer kicked off with an amazing concert on the most beautiful and famous Leiden canal, The Rapenburg. I had the sublime pleasure of singing the duet Tell Him, with the incredibly beautiful and talented Gerlinde Vliegenhart accompanied by the wonderful Sempre Crescendo Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Guido Marchena. The concert was hosted by student vereniging Minerva celebrating its 205 year lustrum (anniversary).
What journey are you on? What do you consider home? On June 9, 2019 I will sing the the song Pelgrimsgebed by Amanda Strydom at the Pinksterpelgrimreis service at the Hoogelandse Kerk, Leiden accompanied by Willeke Smits.
Social, Rolling and Noteworthy describe my months of March and April. The Gainbridge Tulip commercial I worked on started airing nationally in the US and online mid- March. Beautifully filmed and directed by Peter Thwaites, it's about the Tulip Fever in the Netherlands in the 1630's.
Dear Reader, Hello! Oh, What a joy it is to sing with the K&G3 orchestra conducted by René Leckie. In February we performed at the 70th Birthday celebration of Ruud Breedveld at the historical Hooglandse kerk in Leiden.
Happy Valentines Day month! Is that a thing? My little one has been putting heart stickers everywhere, which I quite like, as it reminds me to keep on lovin'.
It's hard to believe we are at the end of 2018 already!
